Reviews

Seems to be a hit!

"My dog loves her new food. She's a little impatient while she waits for me to mix it up and then she gobbles it up! I switched her from a canned food to Honest Kitchen, and from a practical standpoint it takes up so much less space to store and less waste!"

Ellie W. (5/5)

Cleared up yeast!!

"Moose has eaten Honest Kitchen dehydrated recipes for years now and loves them! He had a bit of a yeast flare up so we switched from the grain free recipe to this new grain inclusive one and that did the trick. Think he was a bit sensitive to the amount of potato/starch in the grain free. Continue to love this brand!"

Alex S. (5/5)

Easy to serve and well received!

"Our pups love this! We mix with Honest Kitchen Clusters, and serve slightly thinner than store-bought canned food."

James C. (5/5)

My girls love it

"We use this as a gravy topper with the honest kitchen kibble and our girls love it."

SHEENA D. (5/5)

GOOD

"My frenchie has chronic ear yeast infection. Going raw is a no no for me. I decided this brand and easier to buy if I am at the store or on line. The price is reasonable. So, trying to reduced sugar and carb. This is lowest carb but, after talking to customer service. She suggested to buy pate which is I will do next. Fingers crossed if her ears are improved."

Michelle K. (5/5)

Great

"My dog loves it"

Pamela V. (5/5)

Grain for her heart

"My vet says some grains are good for dogs hearts. This one has Quinoa and Oats for grain. She is tolerating it much better than the bad ones- legumes or corn. I’m really happy with this recipe."

Jamie R. (5/5)

Kinda weird

"This stuff is kinda weird. I want to feed my dog healthy good food but I'm afraid to cook for her and miss essential vitamins. But I don't really understand the consistency. . . I followed the directions and experimented with different ratios but I feel like it just turns to glue. My dog is extremely picky and I was praying that this would be enticing since it's real food thats just dehydrated. But she doesn't like it and I think it's the texture. She only eats it when I mix in cheese, fresh meat, carrots, or other treats. And she never eats the full serving. So idk, it's a work in progress. More experimenting will need to be done I guess"

Chase S. (3/5)

Border Collie loves this

"I use this as a topper on my BC’s food and he loves it."

Diane M. (5/5)

"My dog loves it, I'm so happy i was worried they wouldn't take to it"

Q&A

You may have a typo that you want to address on your nutrient profiles website for this recipe. It reads only 0.02% omega 6 fatting acids. That seems impossible given the ingredients in this recipe. Can you please confirm the omega-6 value of this recipe? Thanks!
Hi Courteney, Sorry about that is 2.0%. We have advised our webteam about this to update. Hope this helps.
How long will a 4 pound bag of dehydrated dog food last if I’m feeding my dog 2 times a day she weighs 20 pounds
Hello! Thank you for reaching out! A 20-pound dog falls under the **Small (11–30 lbs)** category. For an average activity level, you would feed **1/2–1 dry cup per day**. Since you are feeding your dog twice a day, this amount would be split into **1/4–1/2 cup per meal**. ### Calculating for a 4-pound bag: - A 4-pound bag of dehydrated food makes **16 pounds of prepared food** (since a 10-pound box makes 40 pounds). - For an average activity dog eating **1 cup per day**, a 4-pound bag will last **approximately 16 days**. - If feeding **1/2 cup per day**, it will last around **32 days**. The exact duration depends on where your dog's needs fall within the range. Which of your dehydrated or kibbleFood is low carb?
Hi there Susan, Thanks for reaching out! The Clusters are all formulated with the same amount of protein (26%), fat (14.5%) and carbs (40%). Out of the 3 regular clusters recipes, the Chicken is the lowest in calories (422): https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/media/wysiwyg/2020/ADA_Nutrient_Profiles/WFC_Chicken.pdf However, if low carbohydrates is important to you, then it would be best to look at our dehydrated receipes! Our recipes lowest in carbs will be our Grain Free Turkey, Grain Free Fish, Limited Ingredient Turkey, and Limited Ingredient Fish dehydrated diets. Hope this info helps!
Is the 1 cup calories in dry form or dehydrated form?
Hi there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Good question! Our calorie information are based on the dry measure of food (before adding water). Adding water won't add calories, it'll simply just disperses them across a larger volume. Therefore, the Turkey & Whitefish recipe is 445 (kCal) per cup.
My 7 month old dachshund is a very picky eater. I gave her a very small amount of my cat's dehydrated food to see if she liked it and she lapped it up. Why do you not offer dehydrated food for puppies? Can I feed her dehydrated dog food instead?
Hi there Cordi, Thanks for reaching out to us! We offer a variety of recipes suitable for both puppies and adult dogs! Those can be found here: https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/collections/dog-dehydrated-food?refinementList%5Bmeta.general_information.life_stage_salsify%5D%5B0%5D=Puppy
