Your dog didn't complain when you dressed him up, and then he faithfully followed you and your kids around the neighborhood while they trick-or-treated. Yet now he's not allowed to eat any candy! Make him feel included in the gluttony with this tempting treat.
Ingredients
-
½ cup canned unsweetened pumpkin
-
½ cup chicken (cooked, chopped)
-
2 free range eggs
-
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese, plus additional for topping
-
2 cups The Honest kitchen's Grain Free Chicken Recipe
-
2 cups warm water
-
1 apple (peeled, cored and finely chopped)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Lightly coat a loaf pan with olive oil.
- In a large glass bowl, hydrate the dry food with the warm water. Add the pumpkin, apple, eggs, chicken, and cheese. Stir until thoroughly combined.
- Pour the mixture into the loaf pan. Grate a little extra cheese on top (if using). Bake for 50 minutes, or until the top is firm to the touch and slightly crispy. Cool thoroughly before cutting into slices sized appropriately for your dog. The slices or cubes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen in an airtight container or individually portioned resealable plastic freezer bags.
Recipe Note
You can also dice the slices into tiny cubes to use for training.
